The neuro-hormone melatonin ( N -acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) is prominently, though not exclusively, synthesised in the pineal gland and is secreted phasically, as its levels vary with the daily cycle. Melatonin synthesis is a four-stage process that begins with the amino acid l-tryptophan and ends with the production of melatonin.
The melatoninergic system in the skin
Skin cells express all stages of melatonin synthesis and melatonin receptors are present in the skin. The skin is not only a target for the protective action of the molecule but also a site of melatonin synthesis and metabolism.

The liposomes
Melatonin is present in liposomal form for greater stability and release. Liposomes act as vehicles to transport nutrients to the cells through the layers of the skin and enhance the delivery of the functional ingredient. Liposomes are readily compatible with epidermal surface lipids, the skin's main moisture barrier. When a liposome fuses with epidermal lipids, the epidermal lipid structure becomes overloaded, presenting an unbalanced situation. To restore the balance, the water and phospholipid, as well as the active ingredient, are rapidly agitated through the upper cell layers of the stratum corneum. Optimal release of the active ingredient occurs because it is rapidly transported along the stratum corneum. HOW TO USE
Dopo la detersione, stendere sul viso, collo e décolleté, una/due gocce di siero e massaggiare delicatamente fino a completo assorbimento. Utilizzare il prodotto di notte in combinazione con il Night Time filler per una azione d’urto sulle rughe e l’elasticità cutanea. Il prodotto può essere usato anche sull’area perioculare.
