\nLa cute \u00e8 un organo di comunicazione: le cellule epidermiche connettono infatti la cute con la mente attraverso una complessa rete strettamente correlata al sistema endocrino e immunitario.
\nLa pelle non \u00e8 una barriera statica, ma un organo densamente innervato che “parla” con il sistema nervoso endocrino e immunitario per mantenere l\u2019omeostasi interna, ovvero l’equilibrio.
\nEsiste dunque un dialogo continuo fra pelle, cervello e nervi periferici.\u2028<\/strong>
\nLe influenze tra il corpo (la pelle) e la mente sono bi-direzionali e la pelle potrebbe essere considerata un\u2019interfaccia attiva neuro-immuno-endocrina: il semplice rossore associato a un’emozione forte o il pallore e il sudore collegati alla paura o all\u2019ansia rappresentano la tipica dimostrazione del legame esistente tra pelle, emozione, percezione della bellezza e salute.
\nE’ proprio l’epidermide che, producendo neuropeptidi, neurotrasmettitori, citochine, ormoni e neurormoni (tutti appartenenti alla famiglia dei peptidi messaggeri), consente la comunicazione multidirezionale tra pelle, cervello, sistema endocrino, sistema immunitario e organi periferici.\u00a0\u2028Questi peptidi sono l\u2019espressione biochimica delle emozioni e svolgono un ruolo fondamentale nel mediare il dialogo esistente tra tutte le cellule del nostro corpo.

\nThe skin is not a static barrier, rather a densely innervated\u00a0organ that \u201ctalks\u201d to the nervous, endocrine and immune systems to maintain the internal homeostasis, in other words, equilibrium.
\nTherefore, there is a continuous dialogue between the skin, the brain and the peripheral nerves.
\nThe influences between the body (the skin) and the mind are bi-directional and the skin could be considered as an active neuro-immune-endocrine interface: simple blushing, due to strong emotions, or pallor and sweating, connected to fear or anxiety, represent the typical evidence of the link which exists between the skin, emotions, and\u00a0the perception of beauty and health.
\nIn fact, it is the epidermis which, by producing neuropeptides, neurotransmitters, cytokines, hormones and neurohormones (all belonging to the messenger peptide family), allow the multidirectional communication between the skin, brain, endocrine system, immune system and peripheral organs.\u00a0These peptides are the biochemical expression of emotions and carry out a fundamental role in mediating the existing dialogue amongst all the cells in our body.\u00a0
\n<\/b>The interconnection of the various systems, which can also be seen on the skin, has led to the acronym NICE (nervous, immune, cutaneous, endocrine systems) for the formulation and production of innovative cosmetics. In this way, skin treatments can affect the systems connected with the skin.
\nTherefore, neurocosmetics look for applications which affect the skin’s physiology and, by activating the NICE system, guarantee an effect of beauty and holistic well-being.<\/p>\n
